FREEeste freight hub, about ten kilometers from Trieste seaport and closely connected to the flows that from the ‘Adriatic Corridor’ extend towards northern Europe, is one of the examples of the inland infrastructural ‘dispersion’ of the port. Starting from the material dimension of its development trajectories one can investigate the changes occurring over an extended space, not limited to the coastal area, and throughout a dilated time, in order to reframe Trieste into broader flows of transit and mutation, and into a long history of industrial and manufactural transformation.
