Camilla

Camilla Forina holds a B.Arch from Roma Tre University and an M.Arch with honours from Politecnico di Torino. She is a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Torino and holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from Politecnico di Torino and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Tsinghua University (Beijing). She serves as Executive Director of the China Room research group at Politecnico di Torino, where she also coordinates the research activities. Her work is developed within the Polito Studio framework, which explores the potential of a community of practice mediating between academia and the profession. Her research specifically investigates the role of active empirical experimentation in architectural education and training processes. She contributed to the transformation of the Oxygen Factory into the Big Air venue for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games at Shougang, Beijing 2022. She served as Assistant Curator for the 2019 UABB Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture within the exhibition ‘Eyes of the City’, and as Project Manager of the ‘Curating la Biennale’ installation at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale. She also participated in the exhibition ‘Volare: dove i sogni incontrano la tecnologia’ at Expo 2025 Osaka (Italian Pavilion).
