Manli Zhao

Manli Zhao is currently a PhD candidate in the Architecture, History and Project program at Politecnico di Torino. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design from Politecnico di Milano. Her research explores participatory design methods in China’s community healthcare environments from a patient-empowerment perspective, aiming to improve spatial justice for vulnerable groups. She is particularly interested in how ageing and demographic shifts inform urban and architectural regeneration, especially in the transformation of existing neighborhoods in rapidly urbanizing contexts.
