Xiaohan Mei, graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor degree of architecture in 2018, is a joint Ph.D. candidate of Tsinghua University and Politecnico di Torino, as well as a member of Urban Ergonomics Lab, Tsinghua University. She got her start in Urban Ergonomics and Design Science by taking part in the design and research for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, and now focuses on the study of quantifying and predicting spatial experience by urban ergonomic methodology, particularly regarding wayfinding mechanisms and route preferences in underground public space. She attempts to provide a preliminary data-based explanation and model from a spatial-cognitive perspective for the representations of users’ wayfinding patterns, which is expected to be applying to high-quality underground public space design interventions.
