Xian

Xian Lu is a PhD candidate in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino under the joint PhD research curriculum Transnational Architectural Models In A Globalized World with Tsinghua University. She is a junior research fellow in the China Room research center. Registered Architect in Italy and UK, she graduated from the University of Ferrara, and her re-search focuses on emerging architectural typologies and transnational models, especially connected to leisure and consumption. Since 2020, she is a representative of the Politecnico di Torino in a 4-year research project on the Winter Olympics led by the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, focusing on urbanization and architectural changes related to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. She is currently focusing on ski re-sort architecture in China.
